Check your firewall. Activesync/WindowsMobileDeviceCenter use a TCPIP connection and it can be blocked by the firewall.

We use AVG and occasionally an update will block ActiveSync.

Also, last week there was a Windows 10 update that blew up networking on some machines. I think the newer updates fix the issue.

Well son of a gun ... fully charged TSC2 overnight. While throwing out old boxes today, found a new, unopened USB B cable in one so I tried it and now all works as it has in the past. Go figure. Don't think I solved anything, it just works. Even switched back to older cable and it works ... could a battery that was at 60% before charging have made a difference? doesn't seem like it should...

Thanks for the ideas and concentration, I think it helped!

Windows 10 did one of those ignominious updates! Just as I was trying to install a new program on the Allegro MX!
After the update there was just no way I could get connected and stay connected.
I tried on old Win 7 Pro laptop and it worked like a dream.

Mark S thanks for link re ports and drivers.
I often wondered why it would tell me 'your device is ready' or similar when I'd only plugged in few days back and it worked fine.
And reading your post above suspect I'm not alone with Win 10 updates!
I just wish Microsoft would leave well alone and not tinker so much.
Talk about pincushions. I'm glad they're not into surveying.
Boundary corners would be sprayed about like hundreds and thousands on a Christmas cake.
