Riddle me this, can they both co-exist easily on a Trimble TSC2 data collector?

While we'll need Access and it's drivers to work with our new R10 units.
I've heard a rumor that Survey Pro will likely NOT get the updated drivers
to run the R10s!

Seems that Survey Pro does a bit more with our S6 as well. So, I'd like to keep it if we can.

Any ideas?
Experience?

Thanks! 🙂

Survey Pro and Survey Controller will run on a TSC2 together but Access is too big. The TSC2 will barely run Access by itself. I have tried it on a couple of different controllers with similar results - not good.

No problems here with Trimble Access on our TSC2's. In the windows settings you can allocate more/less memmory to programs. You may have to change these settings!

You make me curious?

Sorry for the delay Christ!

My meaning was that Survey Pro comes with the roading functions included and not in an optional module.

ACCESS is quite powerful though! I look forward to using it with our GNSS work.
We do a LOT of construction staking and so far the Survey Pro software has been really easy to get people familiar with it.

Having started out doing transit and chain work around the hop fields here in Oregon as a wee lad. I had to get up to speed pretty quickly with my first county agency job that was using a WILD T-2000 with a GRE3, and WildSoft.

All the new software seems GREAT by comparision! I look forward to the opportunity to learn a bit more about ACCESS, the last time I ran Trimble only GPS/Total Station gear it was 5700 recievers in a backpacks with zephyr antennas! The station we were using was a Trimble 5603. Those collection days were with a TSC1 and version 7.71 I believe.

ACCESS looks like a breeze by comparision!

Thanks,

I know exactly how you're feeling ... we switched from exactly the same Wild setup to a 5603 with Trimble Survey Controller some 7 or 8 years ago. Now We have the S6 + R6-2 and Trimble Access. Very reliable combination for the surveying we do, and I love the access software. (only the General survey module but that works for us)
There's a lot to discover in Access, be sure to browse the pdf manuals from time to time to learn something new.

Chr...

We've been using Survey Pro with the S6 for quite awhile now, and it's done
quite well for our needs (mostly topographic and construction staking needs).

We've added a set of R10's into the equation along with a TSC3 with ACCESS pre-installed.

Now, it's construction season starting up here, and I'm trying to put the R10's
online. With the compressed timelines, I will likely just set one up as an RTK
rover with the TSC3 on the ORGN network that Oregon Department of Transporation
has set up.

After construction season calms down a bit, and I'm ready to start setting control
for next years projects, I hope to sort them out a bit more and run one as a base and the other as a rover (if we have any "blank" spots in the network coverage, or cell phone link "shadows" with poor coverage).

Looking forward to seeing what we can do. With Survey Pro being as productive as it has been for us, I would hate to lose it with the installation of ACCESS.....

If only Spectra Precision and Trimble would play well with each other and share the drivers for the R10 for Survey Pro, that would make the transition easier.

It's all good fun till the kids won't play together eh?

Cheers!
