Hi Leegreen, I am curious what version of magnet are you using? I am unable to find the control codes for mine. I normally output mine as a csv file to be processed. Does the control code come out with the rest of the codes as well?
I'm currently using Magnet Field 4.1, but the Control Styles have been there since the TopSurv days. You can find it under Exchange >To File >Raw Data >Format TDS (*.RAW), then you will see the Code Style button in lower left.
If you export only points files, then it is available under Exchange >To File >Points >Format Text Custom Report (*.txt), then you will see the Code Style button in lower left.

Hi Leegreen have tried to use, however when I tried to draw the line, there is no function to start a line only curves and circle and I am unable to configure codes for circles as well. Were you able to do them?
We just moved from SurvCE on the Carlson Surveyor+ to FC-5000's and Magnet 4.1. Haven't really found a treasure trove of resources on Magnet so I'm witholding judgment on functionality for now. I can say with certainty it's alot easier to find Carlson tutorials. The FC-5000 seems very responsive and links up with all of our equipment very effortlessly. I think it is potent but on the surface it lacks some of the intuitiveness compared to Carlson in the field. The Magnet button serving a million different purposes depending on the screen is like chasing a moving target until you memorize what is available in what screen. We've only gotten a few weeks under our belts but every week we're getting back closer to the efficiency of the old Carlson stuff. Biggest thing we lack still is auto linework on the DC end. We run F2F back in the office but we love to see the linework real time on the site to make sure it's connecting right before we leave the site.
I hear there are videos and tutorials online but I have yet to find anything on the Topcon Total Care site nor the internet in general. I struggled to even find a user manual for Magnet, and the one I did find was for v3.0. It sounds as if Topcon keeps them all on a support website but I just can't find right spot navigating around on there.
Anyone have advice on where the best online resources are for getting up to speed on Magnet Field?

You certainly can draw the line work in the field with Magnet, I do this every day. I see this over and and over again. So it is an apparent problem, that Topcon does not have sufficient tutorials on Magnet Software. I suppose I can put these tutorials together along with videos, but I am a bit reluctant to give away the farm. A lot of my consulting services are focused on providing training and support to my clients for a fee. Most of my clients are contractors, not surveyors. In my experience contractors are willing to pay for training and product support. Contractors have no problem admitting they need help, and very willing to pay for it. Surveyors are not. Topcon (@pmoran) has NOT offered to pay me for these services, so I am stuck in a rut. I enjoy helping people out on this forum, and try my best to answer questions. Just not sure how far to take it.
