One of the things I need to do better in the new year is stay on top of my To Do List. My guess several of you out there can help point me in the right direction.

What I need is an app that will allow me to do most of the editing from my desktop. But the list must also automatically sync to my Smart phone. I need to be able to edit the list from the phone as well.

In a perfect world the app would

1. Sync automatically phone and desktop
2. Support recurring tasks (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly)
3. Allow automatic sorting of the task by priority
4. Allow printing of the task list at the start and end of the day with completed tasks still listed but marked accomplished

A great bonus would be if the app would also

5. Allow me to "assign" tasks to others by automatically sending them an email with details of the task and deadline
6. Allow assigned tasks to be marked as completed by any person assigned the task
7. Allow me to attach files that might be needed to compete the task

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Wunderlist does most of those things, the syncing is fantastic between mobile and desktop.

Google Notes does much of that. The sorting isn't there -- I don't think -- but the sync and mobile/desktop access is. (The desktop version is web-based, and is called Keep.) It's a pretty lightweight app, but I find it useful keeping various lists going.

I have been using Remember the Milk and it allows some of what you mention. Links automatically with Smartphone (iphone, android, windows phone), can assign tasks to other users (wife loves that one), set deadlines, and re-occurring.

It will sync with outlook if you want to use the pro version ($$) which I have yet to try out. I have been using the free one for about 4 months now.

A to-do app that I am using for my sort of to-do management is the cloud based task management software and tool from Replicon and I think so that your requirement can also be figured out with the tool. Check out the link here - http://www.replicon.com/olp/task-management-software.aspx
