Hi,

I'm trying to take a portion of total station data from one TBC file and import it into another TBC file, but I'm getting puzzling results. I selected the points and total station observations from the source file and exported that data to a ".asc" file using "Trimble Data Exchange Format (TDEF) exporter."
Next, I imported said ".asc" file into the other TBC file. The total station observations show different properties in the new file compared to the source file. For example, the prism constant, Timestamp, and HI method have all changed. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

New TBC File:

Thanks,
Jeff

I have notice similar behavior when dealing with TDEF exporter. It appears to "simplify" the data by applying the bottom notch offset and prism constant and removing some quality control data. I am not sure if there is a way to prevent this.

If you are using a newer version (3.6 or later) try the Merge Survey Projects function. The workflow I now use when combining a subset of observations into another projects is to delete everything I don't want to merge and save a copy the source TBC project. Then in the in the destination file use the Merge function to add the subset observations. It is kind of a clunky solution but it is easier then importing the whole raw job file into a project for a handful of observations. I would like to find an exporter/importer that would include all the raw data from the job file without the extra work but I haven't gone through all the options in TBC yet.

Thanks Rob. Your solution using the "Merge Survey Projects" function looks like a good work around.

Only if you have Survey Advanced or above.
