Hi all:

Bought this DC as a replacement for a Ranger thinking it would be a good replacement and would work well with the robot. I am also a TDS user and thought the transition would be seamless. Essentially this is true except in robotic stakeout mode. While the robot works well with the DC in field collection mode the stakeout mode has issues. After selecting a point to stake it takes about 20 seconds to give me information. It reminds me of a video buffering. Almost like it is trying to do the math whereas the old ranger worked very well in stakeout mode. I have matched the setting with what the old Ranger. Serial Port: Com 1 , Baud Rate 4800, Parity: none

Any ideas on what may be slowing down stakeout mode for this setup?

Not enough coffee. Give the dc another cup.

Can you kick up the baud rate to the highest available setting? I think I've seen that increase the speed that information is transferred from instrument to collector and vice versa

Not sure. I think you have to kick up the baud rate on the gun to match

Yes they have to match. Find whichever one has the lowest maximum rate and set them both to that number.....that's what I meant.

It's a bug in 5.8.1, Back it down to 5.8 and it should fix it. It did for me anyway.
