My Carlson 2011 with AutoCAD 2007 embeded is working perfectly for me.
I don't want to change anything. If it continues to work, I would be a okay to keep this same configuration for 20+ years.
But (yes the big butt), Carlson keeps sending these upgrade opportunities every year:
Jan-23-2015 This is a full version of Carlson Survey 2015 with Embedded AutoCAD 2013. The serial number is required for installation. Filename: CarlsonSurvey2015_Embedded.exe
It makes me wonder, do I have my head in the sand?
Am I missing some reason that I really should be upgrading?
If so, how often should I upgrade, every 1 ,2, 5, 10, 20 years?
Brad,
I demo'd 2015 with the embedded AutoCAD a month or so ago. It was pretty awesome. It had some great features. I liked the ability to work with Google Earth files, and there were some other things I can't remember off of the top of my head.
Things have slowed down quite a bit over the past two to three months. I was hoping to be able to upgrade, but I am going to have to wait. I am running Carlson Survey 2008 with embedded AutoCAD. I am a small solo shop, and I am barely scratching the surface of what this is capable of.
Jimmy, I think we are in very similar boats. I am happy with the way my 2011 works with Google Earth and geo tiffs.
Good luck in KY, go get 'em tiger!
