I'm not sure what happened to the drawing file settings,
but I am trying to pick some stake out points out of a drawing,
and I am failing.
I have a CRD, and I am working in a drawing that gave me
a different type of trouble last time when trying to pick.
My steps are,
Command: LPOINT
Pick point to create:
Point Elevation [Enter/]: (here I enter) 800 (for elevation)
At this point I would expect the prompt for description, then point number,
but I get a blank command line and if I hit ENTER, I get
Error: invalid entry
followed by the repeat prompt
Point Elevation [Enter/]:
Has anybody ever seen this?
Last time my problem was it wanted me to prompt the TEXT entity.
I somehow bypassed this and the normal point prompt cycle started to work.
If the points are in the drawing why are you trying to create them.
I sometimes have a problem that a command does not work because Carlson did not load correctly when opening the drawing. Close and reopen takes care of that problem.

I created construction phase one points off the line work, previously in the same drawing.
They are visible in the drawing.
I am moving on to phase 2 and have all my offset line work
completed and now I am trying to create points 600 and up.
I saved this drawing to a USB stick and opened it on my office
PC, and it is behaving exactly the same.
I just saved the drawing and closed the program.
Reopened the program.
Same result, jammed up.
Use The Pulldown Points Command
Set your point defaults to point number/elevation/description and on Z axis if you want.
Make sure your osnap settings are not clicking off.

Use The Pulldown Points Command
Well, I tried to recall what I did last time,
and I tried entering "e" for the first prompt
Command: LPOINT
Pick point to create:
Point Elevation [Enter/]: 800
e
Point Elevation [Select/] : 800
Enter Point Description : 3os bit
Enter Point Number :
N: 3201.38390 E: 3743.46055 Z: 800.00000
Slightly cryptic, on what the command line is asking.
I guess I'm off to the races, just really really late.
Thanks for your time!
