Recently loaded AutoCAD 2000 on a Windows 7 machine via the Virtual XP PC option. AutoCAD seems to load okay via Virtual PC and be functional, but right away I notice that there is a typical windows pointer that follow the cross hairs around the screen. I can probably live with it, but wondered if anyone had encountered this or know of a fix.

Thanks

Uhhhh...get a newer version of acad???

I kinda have the opposite problem, my computers are all new and my Plotter is an HP650C, which the drivers won't work with Windows 7.

Right. Just a band-aid untill I can purchase new software later in the year. I was kind of surprised how well virtual xp works, besides the pointer. After I pick up a usb adapter I'm going to try and install my HP 430.

I had the same trouble with ACAD2005 in the XP Virtual Machine. It ended up driving me crazy. I searched all the forums I could find for a fix and got nothing. There was also a bit of a delay/drag in this pointer as well. I believe it has something to do with the VM not having strong "video" capabilities. Good luck!

Kelly, please post up your success / failure on the plotter thing. I "upgraded" to 7 last month, and only have been able to dabble with the machine. I can't get it to recognize my printers, and the USB/serial converter cable I have for my GPS will not work, despite supposedly having win7 drivers.

I will. I believe all the older drivers will have to installed in the virtual xp environment.
