I want to try something new. I have a retaining wall that I need to stake out. I have the geometry of the top and bottom of the?ÿwall in cad as 3d polylines. I'm going to set hubs at a 10' offset from the alignment. What I'd like to be able to do is to?ÿstake out to the offset location and then be able to read the offsets and cuts to BOTH the top and bottom of the wall at the same time.
My process now is to go through and manually put in the wall offset points at the PI's and then stake the two points out individually to get the information?ÿthat I need to write on the stake?
I've got Magnet and SurvPC in the field and Civil3d and Carlson Civil Suite in the office.
Is there such a thing as having one point with two elevations and descriptions?

I do not know, we always have Cut sheets for anything that has more than one cut, like a Manhole with 2 of more pipes.?ÿ
How much are they cutting to the bottom?, sometimes you have to stake the bottom and come back and stake the top or the top offset stakes needs to be back farther, or if they crew building the Wall is smart they can add the height of the wall to the bottom cut stake.
I have never seen in a Carlson Data Collector one point two elevations.?ÿ
My first thought is to talk to the contractor who is going to build the wall.?ÿ He MAY be able to work off of one stake (per PI in the wall) or he may need two (or more) depending on the wall height.?ÿ Are you going to be marking cuts/fills on the stake??ÿ If so that should make things easier to say Fill X.xx to bottom and Fill Y.yy to top of wall.

I don't think you can do what you're contemplating.
I do same as you describe - create 2 points with same N, E and different design elevations.
Similar with manholes: same N, E but different elevs for bottom; ie in; ie out; rim.
With the software I use, Survey Controller or Access, you can edit the design elevation being staked. I don't like doing that much though as it can lead to errors from miss-entering the elevation.
In Magnet Field you can layout a polyline, with a reference line at the same time. The reference line may need to be an alignment?ÿ
Yes you can. Different cut/fills to top of wall, and bottom of wall.
Note, different offsets to top and bottom of wall, due to the batter, which you better know.
Sounds like Lee has the answer for Magnet field. Offsets to two lines at once.
You can always stake the line, drive stake, make offsets then then escape back out switch to the the other line.
Or stake the other line on the way back.
Leica Roads will allows offsets to up to 2 lines plus a centreline to be displayed.
It would be similar to slope staking
