I'm opening a cad file (autocad 2000) with the UCS rotated 90 degrees. I'd like to put it back to normal, but can't remember how to without screwing around (and probably failing)

thanks in advance.

Type UCS
Then type W for World, hopefully that should restore your UCS to normal

Thanks, all, it was indeed the DVIEW Twist action, not the UCS. I don't usually use that function, so it gets shuffled out of my brain. I'd much rather change the view in paper space.

Dview twist is the best way to go as it just twists your view and does not screw around with the actual data.

Set the same dview angle in model space as you do in paper space and you will be a happy camper with a good looking drawing.

note - I usually put the dview twist angle in the name of the layout tab just for future quick reference.
