I'm about to pull out what hair I've got left switching over from my XP computer to a 64 bit computer with Windows 7.

I just purchased Microsoft Office 2013 for a year lease. I had Office 2003 on my old computer, and it won't install on the new computer. I have all my jobs in a Microsoft Database that is linked to either a MS cadd file or an AL cadd file, depending on which state the survey is in, that I use Carlson GIS with. The projects.mdb is what I log all my jobs into.

Now I can't even open the darn thing. Access 2013 says "The current version of MS access does not support replicated databases. To use this database, open in a previous version of MS Access".

Does anyone know if there is a solution for this, other than buying an older version of Access or Office?
thanks, JT

I know SQL server very well.
What exactly is the problem?

If your mdf file is not locked (i.e. not in use by another process), send it to me. and see if I can attach it my server.
I also have Office Pro 2007 (I think) with Access.

I don't know about replicated files so this might be iffy.
I'm willing to give it a go if you wish.

I'll need a little more detail on what the deal is.
E.

EDIT: I might also need the .ldf file if you have one. That's log file and I've found sometimes they just need to be together.

Eric,
It's headed your way. The new version says that it can't open a replicated database, I guess since I copied it from the old computer. I don't know how it knows.
There's not any more files, at least in that same folder, so whatever it's reading must be in the same file.
Thanks a bunch!
Terry

mdf and ldf is all I know about. Far as MS SQL server or MS Access goes.

If your files are too big for email, you can burn it to dvd and send it here.
I might could do a remote login if given credentials. Don't post that here of course.
Happy to help if I can.
E

BTW: In case it needs to be said, your data is super private with me. It won't go anywhere. You have my word-bond on that.

If you can lay hands on an installation of Access 2003, you might be able to convert the database to a regular .mdb by following these instructions.

Thanks to both of you guys for the help.
Jim, I have 2003 on my old computer, so I will give that a try.
I mean, there has to be a way somewhere. I don't want to loose my links from the projects database to my drawings. It took a lot of time to create them.
thanks again, JT

Are you sure it's a database file you are trying to open? MS Access files are normally MDB, not MDF.

MDF appears to be a file associated with some CD burning software.
