I've postponed my attempt at installing LDD2004 alongside Civil3D 2011 for now, hoping that by forcing myself to use C3D, I will get more comfortable with it... So far so good!

I've run into a situation where I want to add a Station/Offset label at the intersection of 2 alignments, showing the relation to both alignments, but I can't find where C3D has this functionality... Anyone out there know of one?

For now the work-around will be to either add 2 labels, one referencing each alignment. Or the old-school method of adding a label, exploding it, and editing the text to say what I want... In the spirit of trying to keep things "dynamic", I think I'll try the former and see how it goes!

Thanks!

I haven't done this in a while and I'm at home where I don't have Civil 3D. I seem to remember that there is a tutorial that covers what you need, built into the program. Just go to the help menu and pick on tutorials. Hope this helps.

Multiple ways...

One would be to create a new Station/Offset Label Style, similar to the default one, but also add a "Reference Text" component that references an Alignment. You do this on the Layout tab of the Label Style Composer.

When you place the label in your drawing, it will prompt you to select the second Alignment. From then on, the label will remain dynamic to both Alignments, and respond to changes in either one.

Thanks Frank & Sinc, I knew there had to be something I was missing...

Right now I have a single Station/Offset Component that looks like this:
Alignment=
Station=
Offset=
Alignment=
Station=
Offset=
Northing=
Easting=

I was thinking that somehow I could select the different alignment names under the variables, but I couldnt find out how.

I guess I need to look into what Reference Text does... Perhaps have multiple components instead of packing everything in one?

Thanks again!

Got it! 2 Reference Text Components, and we're in business!

Thanks a million!
