I recently added the tree survey settings to my F2F to take advantage of some of the options and labeling available by using this function. I like the idea of using the "Draw tree symbol by factor of trunk size" as it varies the size of the symbol based on the trunk size, saving me from doing it manually in the drawing. Everything works great, the symbols come in at varying sizes and the label I set up comes in perfect. The only thing I don't like, is that the diameter of tree symbol is being drawn at a factor of 10 of the trunk size ....so if you have a 6" tree, the diameter of symbol is drawn at 6ft, which is really small. I would like to change the factor size, but can't seem to find a setting for that. I've messed with the symbol size scaler under "Edit Points/Codes", but that doesn't seem to have an affect. I've tried tech support a couple times, but can't seem to get a call back from them. Does anyone know how to do this?

I used the default code order in the tree set up with "code trunkdia dripradius" (T 12 15), then scaled the tree symbol by the dripline radius.

I believe that the "size factor" field is the option you want to modify in your case. See the image above.

Some of the tree symbols are too complicated. I have reduced a few to fewer lines. I want a tree symbol to be in the background, not dominate that area of the drawing.

Yeah ....that looks like it would do it. What version are you using? I'm on 2013 and don't see that setting.

I agree ....I use a simple tree symbol that only shows an outline and center circle. I just don't want my small trees to plot at the same size as large ones. I also plot most of my topo linework and symbols at a grey scale, so that it doesn't overtake the drawing.
