I am about to purchase a MacBook Pro. If I install a Windows "emulator" can I run my Auto-CAD based Carlson software?

Not sure what you mean by emulator, but you can if you use Bootcamp, VMware, or Parallels. Works great.

An emulator is a virtual machine that simulates the windows platform. Boot camp requires a full licensed version of Windows to be installed. I'm trying to avoid that cost.
