I just took a low blow from Survce. I have an Allegro MX I use with a Leica robot and Carlson. I tend to keep the raw file in the job running for the entire job and export/import coordinates from the office. I copy the raw file every couple days or when I am ready to work on it. I have about 80 percent of the raw file already cleaned up and adjusted in the office. We worked yesterday and today and when I look at the raw file there is nothing for the the past two days. I have the points in the crd file and notes pertaining to the missing points in the note file but nothing in the rw5 file. Anyone ever lost raw data with Survce? I don't think it has lost the data rather it just isn't printing it to the raw file.

Have you tried completely powering down and rebooting the DC? I've seen whole files "missing", but never a portion of an .rw5.
You might also try just looking at the .rw5 with a text editor rather than importing it into Carlson; that will tell you for sure whether the data is there.

I've looked with word pad and in Survce you can view it. The data is just gone.

OK. One more thought. Are you absolutely sure you did not inadvertently create another data file, perhaps in a different directory, with the days lost data? If you selected a different file by accident to start a days work, the data would be appended to that file. Might be worth while to look at your directories in the DC and sort by date. Not a big possibility because you do say that the coordinates are there in the CRD; just not in the .rw5. Odd indeed.
It's very strange rfc. It's not in another job.

I was able to test it this morning and sure nuff, SurvCe quit writing the raw data to the file, but still computes the coordinates and writes to the note file. No warning and you won't know it until you look at the raw file. New item for daily checks I rebooted and its back to normal. Not a very fun bug to find, I have to go redo two days work.

Has the toggle for raw data stopped working?
Perhaps some feature settings you have customized cause a conflict.

Is there a toggle for storing raw data? I thought this was automatic. No settings changed, that I know of.
A Harris, settings couldnt have been the issue because when I rebooted it worked. The settings don't change (or shouldn't) with a simple reboot.

I do not trust the ghost in the machine because it has dropped raw data collection on me more than once.
Also believe that some helpers can simply hold or transport the DC to the work truck and their bad mojo will change settings.
Changing power source and power alerts have their own ways of causing unexpected results in the behavior of units.
May the force be with you to resolve your issue.............:skull:

Resolving the old fashion way... doing it again.
