I have the 2008 standalone with embedded Cad. Recently, I have noticed that when creating points in a drawing (by points,-draw locate-points, screen pick) that the points will ALL show up in the drawing and most will show up in the database but not all will be there. I have never seen this before. It is usually just one or two points but it definitely can cause a problem when you get to the field only to discover a point on your stakeout sheet does not exist in your data file. Any help would be appreciated.

I run the same program but haven't had that problem.n There are occasions when creating points that you will need to "update coord file from drawing" in order to make sure that all points are in the coord data base. Or update drawing form coord file?!?

I agree that it sounds like a coordinate file update problem.

Did you move any points, rotate, or the like? If you do anything at all to a point in the drawing you have to remember to go to Points>coordinate file utilities>update crd file from drawing. Also be careful with the renumbering and overwriting here as either can create a mess if you choose incorrectly.

I can't imagine anything else being the problem but if it is I would be on the horn with Carlson asap.

Thanks for the replies folks. I believe I have isolated the problem to being caused by the real-time sync program I run to keep a mirror copy of my files..What is happening is that the coordinate file changes are being overwritten while I am creating a point. I believe I have solved the problem by changing some settings in the sync software..I had it set to delay the copying slightly, thinking that would be less system intensive.
