I'm fine tuning my Field to Finish table in Carlson Survey 2011 and need some advice. I normally locate a tree and label it as Pine 20, and I get a Pine symbol drawn with the description of Pine 20. Is there a way to get the FTF routine to swap and label the size first then the description? Is it also possible to get the FTF routine to add an inch symbol? I've played with the fixed parameters box but had no luck.

ok here you go
suppose your code is PIN for Pine
you enter point description of PIN 24..it must be in that order to work with only 1 space
under FTF and code PIN
set your attribute format to both
separate attribute layers to symbols
leave your description blank and set use raw description to off
click on the box for GIS/Note/Point Attribute Labels
Check the box for description set Rotation as you want... no prefix..set suffix to [" Pine] without the brackets...set style to whatever text style you want..you can adjust offset scalers to move the text as you want
save and run ftf
