That is interesting. We run Civil 3D at a fairly high level, with big Quadro cards, but as far as I can see on the performance monitor, the cards are never used more that 1-2%.
Just built one as well, and the video cards that are available suck. The RTX 3060 lists at $330, but are unavailable except through their lottery system, so you buy half the video card for the same money.
You would think. But this last one, I saw the same components in pre-builts at about 10% less. No big deal, my kid and I got to put it together, but the main issue was waiting a month for the video card that was cutting edge 18 months ago.
I can see why that one would be sold out.?ÿ I used to buy XX70s all the time because they were kind of the sweet spot for me when it came to price VS power.?ÿ My most recent card is a 2080 TI though and that thing was obnoxious at $1100.?ÿ I've never owned a TI before so I was mostly just curious to see if it was worth it.?ÿ Have you tried looking at the 2000 series cards??ÿ Maybe those are available for a reasonable price.
