After reading Shawn's review on SurvNet v18 in Carlson, I realized I had not updated in a while. So I thought I would do so this weekend.

I've installed Carlson Survey 2024 w IntelliCAD 11 on a desktop PC. Was able to get almost everything running smoothly, except:

  • Function keys are not working. Example F8 no longer toggles ortho off/on
  • I can not select an entity and use the delete key on the keyboard, I have to right mouse fly-out window and select delete.
  • I can not undo with ctrl-Z. I have to pull-down menu and select undo.

As I haven't installed a new version in a while, I don't recall if there is a setting that I need to go in and change to enable these basic functions to operate. Any ideas?

Hello Jon -

I also updated to Carlson Survey (and Civil) 2024 with IntelliCAD 11 just this past week.

All my function keys work as before (Carlson 2021 with IntelliCAD on Windows 7 Pro).

My Delete key deletes the selected item(s).

Ctrl+Z does the Undo

Wish I had a suggestion for what to try.

hit the delete key, then select the objects to get rid of, then enter key. It's worth a shot.

Thanks for the feedback. I used the "Send Bug Report" to submit the issue to Carlson. Hopefully will have a reason/solution soon.

Tried keying delete first, but the software doesn't even recognize that key from the keyboard.

Another thing I just noticed is that the "Enter Deed Description" section for selecting units has changed from poles to rods (key in "P" for poles is now key in "R" for rods). Not a big deal, but will require retraining some muscle memory. I'm not a skilled typist, so I look at the keyboard when typing. I had entered several lines, including the "P" for poles, without looking at the screen before I noticed I wasn't in the expected section of the data entry.
