Anyone ever have this happen??ÿ You're just working along and all of a sudden your drawing closes.?ÿ It happens to me every so often, not enough to be worrisome, but enough to be...well...strange.?ÿ Any ideas on what does this??ÿ We are using the network license copies if that makes any difference.
Seems to happen occasionally when you're in a hurry. I've learned to save my drawing alot so I don't have to redraw it again. I find I can redraw it alot faster the second time.
This happens to me about once a month but I am using Microsurvey and Intellicad. I adjusted the time interval between automatic drawing saving and have become adept at finding the SV$ and MZ$ files.?ÿ
My office suffers from electrical hiccups that even the backup systems don't handle very well.?ÿ
Its still better than the wagon train though.?ÿ?ÿ

Our office does too, wonder if that is part of the issue?
Carlson will close on its own for me on a blue moon basis.
It is usually due to a "touchy mouse" and/or my "hurried commands".
Those are my excuses, really do not know the true cause.
I do know that it happens mostly on an old drawing created with ADCADD that I incorporate into the newer system and after I am in the middle of creating a new product, POOF , it is all gone.
I delete the corrupt file, open up the older drawing and start over with a slightly different filename.
For one old file it kept happening over and over.
Had to start everything over from scratch, this was the one I learned to create a new file name.
good luck
My experience with Carlson/Intellicad was back in 2011/2012. It happened quite a lot then, like more than once a day. I understand that the latest versions are much more stable.?ÿ
Yeah it's nowhere near more than once a day.?ÿ I'm thinking once a month.?ÿ Enough to make you wonder...
I have had more issues since IT upgraded me to a new laptop with Windows 10.?ÿ My co-worker just started using the software today and as I was helping him create a centerline from a polyline, after I typed in the beginning station and hit enter the program closed.?ÿ The centerline file was written but it still is a inconvienence to have to restart.?ÿ Good thing the autosave was dropped to 5 minute intervals.
Yeah it's nowhere near more than once a day.?ÿ I'm thinking once a month.?ÿ Enough to make you wonder...
Civil3d locks up solid more often than that at 4x the price.

By no means complaining just wondering if it's something I'm doing wrong.
Carlson shutting down without warning is due to the auto save function. Go under settings and change the frequency of the function to about every 30 minutes. When?ÿ you have a command active within Carlson at the time of the autosave, then the autosave is skipped. But sometimes when you invoke a command at the same time as the autosave function kicks in, they will conflict with each other and cause it to close without warning. I actually put my pc to save every hour. I used to be really scare that it would close and I would lose my progress, but I've become accustomed to manually saving (ctrl+s) about every ten minutes. It is all in just what you get used to doing.
