anyone climbed the learning curve on this one?

do I need win7 pro or ultimate for the XP compatibility mode or will win7 home premium do?

for grins i tried running XP under VMware under 32 bit unbuntu on a netbook, but it was a little too much like 10 lbs. of fertilizer in a 5 lbs. sack.

Half ...try this

Try Sentinel System Driver by Rainbow Industries (it's a free download). It allowed me to run an old TDS dongle for Survey Link. TDS told me to find an old XP machine as they don't support their older stuff .... it should let you run anything 32 bit on a 64 bit. Had it for 9 months now with no problems. Should fix it for you.

I have a WIN7 64 bit laptop running Carlson 2006 with no apparent problems. Carlson said it wouldn't work, I bought Windows7 Pro so I could install XP mode, but it seems to be working ok as is.
