I've been running Windows 10 with AutoCAD 2016 for several months but I found a new pitfall today. Apparently there is a known issue with AutoCAD 2015 & 2016 where AutoCAD will not plot to older HP plotters (Designjet 800 in my case) that are not supported in Win8 and Win10.
In my case I upgraded from Win7 and Win10 uses the 64-bit HP driver with no issues. I hadn't noticed the issue until now because I typically plot from AutoCAD to a pdf then send that to the plotter. Incidentally, this is one of the suggested workarounds. Other fixes include using the Universal Designjet Driver that HP has released for Win10 (I think it works with Win8 also), or a complex fix where you have to trick AutoCAD into thinking it is printing to one of the really old HP plotters.
This is the first time I've seen Autodesk seemingly intentionally not support a device since Microsoft first went to the system printer style drivers.
Do you have any idea where the "Universal Designjet Driver" resides, or a name?
