I've tried every combination of settings, trying to export an ASCII file from TraversePC into SurvCE. Something is getting messed up in the parsing of the file. Here's the actual .ASC file:

In SurvCE, I'm using File Type: User Defined, then .ASC., then PYXZD. Can anyone see anything about the file that may be a problem? It's driving me nuts.
Any ideas?

I wonder if it has something to do with the blank description field....Are you sure you are selecting a comma delimited file P,N,E,Z,D?

Try pasting that whole text file into excel, do text to columns, choose delimited by comma. Then save that as a .CSV comma delimited file. Try importing that.

There's an option of "" for "new line"; I'm thinking that might be it, but there's no equivalent in SurvCE. You'd think something as simple as an ASCII file transfer wouldn't be a problem. Guess again.

Yes, in TraversePC, they're calling N=Y, E=X, and Z=Z.
But that said, I just looked closely at my Export format, and I've left out some commas! argh!
Could that be it? I'll try P,Y,X,Z,D

Works great...as long as you don't leave out any commas!!

> are you choosing the comma delimited PNEZD option?

ARGH. Left out a comma or two. I gotta get some better glasses!

Mission accomplished.
Thanks
