I'm hoping someone here has a an easy solution for this small "problem" i'm having with CAD. It's driving me nuts and i need to figure it out. I'm running civil3D with Carlson 2011. Upon erasing information on a curve it leaves behind, i can only explain it as a trailer, looks like a blurr of text. You can't erase it, when you zoom close enough it disappears and a regen does nothing to it. It seems to me to be some kind of setting but i have looked thoroughly and hit the help menus with no avail. They stay exactly where the original text was labeled so if i zoom out i have a bunch of bloches. Anyone know what i'm talking about?? Thanks for the help!
probably something to do with the style's style plus the system variable which affects style styles or something like that.
😉
The 3.0 version of Generic Cadd would do this. Text was entered as a single letter or number and each had its own position point. At times an erase or delete text would not eliminate these marks ( a little dot) and would do the same thing you are saying. In order to find them when they were not visible was to snap to them and do an object erase. After you thought you had them all it was necessary to regenerate the drawing to make a final visual to make sure that they all had been taken off.
I know exactly what you are describing, Happens to me when I draw a parcel in "space" using the "Enter Deed Description" and then move the entities / text to their correct position. Paranormal activity perhaps??? :-O
That sounds like an empty text string. Try: File -> Drawing cleanup -> Erase blank text entities.

Is there still a blipmode setting?
I seem to remember having issues years ago, but haven't seen it in some time.
I could be way off base, though.
Good luck
Thanks pete, it's still happening but you atleast you can "erase" them through dwg cleanup. I will continue to search to see if i can come across the setting to avoid this from happening in the first place though. If and when i do i will post it. Thanks for the responces!
Longer shot, but have you tried the command "regen"? (typed regen into the command line). It is short for regenerate.
thanks john, but that was one of the first things i tried. I only wish it was that easy!
