Johnny Gaskins was a good friend, a good man and a good surveyor. Johnny was the chairman of the SAMSOG scholarship committee for several years and now the scholarship bears his name. Johnny fought ALS (Lou Gehrigs disease) for the last few years and never lost his wit, sense of humor or his love of surveying. He was a Christian in the true sense of the word. Johnny, this world is a little darker without you. Go with God my friend.

Sorry to hear about your friend. May he rest in peace, and may God put His loving arms around his friends and loved ones as they mourn.
That is a shame. He was a legend around my parts. And you could always count on his stuff being done right.
Rest in Peace.
I, too, am sorry to hear about the passing your friend. If you have the opportunity, please convey my condolences to his family. May your memories give you strength and bring you peace.
I hated to hear that Johnny passed. Like Snoop said, he was a legend around the area. He was one of those guys that people listened to when he had something to say. He was one of the good guys. Rest in peace.
Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your friend. My wife's father died of ALS in 1984 and I know the difficulties associated with that illness. Peace be with you, and the family of your loved one.
