In?ÿ May of 2005, some of the old GLO/BLM cadastral surveyors did a presentaion in Phoenix of "The Methods Used Pertaining To How They Performed Their Field Surveys" using chains, solar compasses, and solar transits. Some of the names I can recall doing this were: Jerry Knight, Jerry Wahl, Dale Wilson, and Don ?? and some others. The name Don Beck kind of rings a bell in the back of my mind as maybe being?ÿthe one being there. I have some pictures that were taken of the event and could send you a copy of the ones that had some of these guys I named that were there. The Don that was there was operating the Solar Transit and Jerry Wahl, the Solar Compass.?ÿ

My memory must be going. I looked in my 2005 work diary and see that it was on January 22, 2005 that the event was held, not in May as stated originally.
