Where is agood place to buy an aerial of an entire county in Mississippi? The state offers some photos but they are .sid and a pain to work with in carlson... Giving the brother a photo for his birthday and wnt to "dress it up a little" (labels, markers, etc) before I give it to him.

You can export/convert the MrSid file to use in Carlson or you can even create a tiff or jpeg to use for annotation in any photo software.
The file size is what is freaken out Carlson, I assume.
I have brought MrSid into Carlson, but it may have been as a tiff. Usually I grab all available types just in case.
Available photography is 10,000' x 10,000'. The most I have had in a project to date is 6 images. I could not consider a county size project on my computer.

Local jurisdictions would be a good place to start, and if that isn't to your liking check with some photogrammetry firms around, they may have tips and info to lead you down the right rabbit hole.
If you already have a nice sid file, then make sure you get the proper add ons to carlson to work with them. sids are great and so much better to work with in cad than a large Tiff.
If you need a quick viewing program. I would use IRFANVIEW. Best program for large file sizes and its a free download with many little pluggins to help with photos.
Have you tried here http://www.gis.ms.gov/Portal/home.aspx?dom=&x=1003&y=532&browser=Microsoft Internet Explorer
I have gotten raster images without going through sid files. Email me if I can help
A "good" aerial of a county will have to be a substanital size (both on paper and Megabytes)
