The UAV is a Phantom 2 and the camera is a GoPro 3+ Black edition. Specs are online. I don't have them in front of me. Basically 3,000 ft.

Have you looked into merging your hardware with this software: http://www.datumate.com ?

The software procedures seems simple enough. Shoot - Control - Measure.
Whatever happened to those $10000 photogrametry softwares from the likes of Intergraph, DAT/EM, Socet St, etc. that takes forever to master.

The GoPro does not have the best resolution for this software...it'll work but they recommend something in the 17-21 megapixel range.

Danged Peeping Tom

You left out examples of where you saw more than you were supposed to see.:-$

Imagine walking across your bedroom from the shower to get some fresh underwear and looking out the window to see some UAV thingy winking at you.

In my case, I would be udderly embarrassed.
