I do a lot of work where I have to wear a life vest. I like to attach stuff to it, like radio, microphone, camera, etc. I am looking for good lanyards with quick connects, not the cheap kind you use for photo ID's.

Anybody know a good online source? I did a quick search, but what came back are the kind I don't want.

Learn some basic braiding and knot tying, buy some rings, snaps and the lacing or cordage of choice and custom make your own. Do that and you will be able to change each one to it's own unique needs. Probably be asked to make some for your buddy's.

:good:

1/4" poly rope is relatively cheap and with a little industrial hardware knowledge that seems like the best bet to customize lanyards for your individual needs.

Try the 5mm paracord and some stainless hardware from your local hardware store. I prefer the nylon quick-release clips. The 3M reflective paracord is amazing. It lights up like a stop sign when light hits it and makes things easy to find at night. I've wrapped a lower section of my hiking staff with it and have had drivers remark about how far away they could see it. Very cheap on ebay.
If you're into paracord crafts, check this guy out...He's really, really, really into it.

The best lanyards I have were gimmies from attending Trade Shows that carry logos from Sokkia, Allen Precision Equipment and others.

Have seen some nice ones at Gander Mountain.

Cheaper Than Dirt has a large selection.

NashvilleCustomLeathers.com is best. My son owns it.

Either build your own from paracord (550 cord) or you could look at a tactical vest to go over the life vest, like the ones that police wear. They're called Molly vests. Really handy and should take care of anything you need. They're modular with lots of accessories that can be added to the vest.
