Good call.
Now something that I forgot to mention... (whoops).
I had problems with my wireless set up, so I went ahead and bought a cable. I've had no problems since that. I hope you have better luck. Other than that, I think you'll be pleased.
Carl, I bought a cable along with additional cartridges. The cable came with software and also increased the warranty another year. It wasn't cheap though, $50.

It's well worth it for the headaches it will alleviate trying to get the wireless to work, trust me.
My HP Officejet 4500 just died, hours after the warranty expired.
I just ordered a Brother MFC 6490CW from Tiger Direct, $149.99 plus about $25 shipping.
Thanks for the tip.

Personally I believe fax is yesterday's technology,

Canon MF3240 is a good laser printer for around $100. An $80 toner cartridge is good for about 2500 pages.
And I do believe that the fax is yesterday's technology.
Here's a tip I discovered regarding my Brother laser:
The new laser printers refuse to print when it senses the toner cartridge is low, even though you may not notice any change in quality. To get around this, place a piece of electrical tape over the "window" on the toner cartridge to fool the printer. Then YOU can decide when to replace the cartridge.
I got about 500 more pages out of a cartridge after the printer told me I had to replace.
