Rise and shine in Gallup NM. Over four hours of rain along the way yesterday so pretty tiring leg of the trip. Just hit the start of the really big storm in eastern NM yesterday. I'm glad I pushed onward.
NM has been almost total road construction along the way. Not new but mostly resurfacing. I'd consider trading the gps for a used paver.
Texas so far has had the best roads and I traveled mostly the secondary roads. I give them a thumbs up.
Last night was relaxing. Met another traveler who is heading east and we shared dinner at nice five star NM restaurant. I believe it was called Denny's. 🙂 she and I were both tired so we chatted a bit in the hot tub before we parted ways.
Time to load up once I finish this cup of decaf and head over to Flagstaff then downwards.
I hope San Diego is still there. I guess it heard I was coming as yesterday they had a quake.

Deral: You had me with the five star-Denny's Restaurant line. 🙂
Lot's to see on that leg. Stop at Montezuma's Castle once you pass Flagstaff.
Deral,
Safe riding. Enjoy!
Joe
Keep a keen eye..
Watch out Deral, they drive Guzzis!
Keep a keen eye..
paden: i owned an old CHPS 1971 Guzzi! It looked very much like the ones in the pic. White with the gas tank chromed area, factory matching bags and fairing.
Rode it cross country from Luke AFB, San Francisco, Great Falls, and home to Muncie, IN July-Aug 1976 after Honorable Discharge from USAF. It was a great touring bike, but was always reaching for a 5th gear, the 4 speed box was really the only mechanical limitation.
750cc V-twin at 90 degrees, drive shaft; low center of gravity, heavy; at 50-75mph it was as comfortable as an old rocking chair. i've lost track of bikes now, don't think they even make Guzzis any more...
Glad i did that when i could. It was a great ride!
