Interesting contrast to Scott's thread. It's hard to get the scale of until the end when they compare the glacier's size with Manhattan. The height of the glacier face it 2.5 to three times the height of the tallest buildings in Manhattan.
That is amazing footage. It must have been something to witness that in person. I image even the best speaker woofer can not capture the sound of it breaking up. The concern is that once the ice that is in the water gives way, that it will cease to buttress the ice sheet on the land.
