Hi guys...
I checked in with Eric last week. I asked him if it was OK for me to share his reply as it is from his own words and explains better than I could on his progress. He of course said yes, otherwise I would not be sharing it. :smarty:

Hi Angel,
I'm still around .... ALL THANKS BE TO GOD ALMIGHTY AND JESUS CHRIST!
Just trying to get over this dam cancer.
I have oral cancer if you didn't know.
Stage 4C. Don't worry about that number. Oral cancers always rate high stage numbers because so many things get involved instead of just one area. Scans also indicate (even to an untrained eye) that it has not spread and is isolated to mainly my left jaw but has gotten over into the right jaw but the primary site is left.
So far things are going very well. I'm completely miserable ALL the time but that beats the alternative. I'm living in my parents basement for now since I have no family, insurance nor support people in Georgia so Dad moved me here in early Sept.
I've been through chemo already and the tumor practically went away. I saw the scans and it was truly amazing. Except for loosing practically all my head hair, chemo didn't bother me hardly at all. I just started my 2nd week in radiation therapy. They tell this is going to be brutal on me. I'm scared when they say.
I know I haven't checked-in in quite a while and I'm sorry about that. Let everyone know I'm still here. Some days are tougher than others. Yesterday and today have been pretty good days. Friday and Sat. were bother pretty hard on me. Probably from my 1st week of radiation and somewhat in the dumps. Probably just after a Wednesday didn't help. The radiation Dr. says Wednesday hits me with the strongest dosages - then Th. and Fr. are short easy ones and Sat. & Sun I/we are off.
Other than that, I"m still kicking. I don't have much energy to do much of anything. Somedays I can barely climb the stairs. Other days. like today, I'm ready to go do something. Unfortunately, all my trains, drones/flying machines and computer stuff (and pretty much everythings else I own) are still at my townhouse in GA.
Tell everyone I said hello.
I would say to drop line (phone) but since I have a trachistomy, my speech is not always that great no matter how hard I try.
I also have a feeding tube so I haven't eaten solid foods since.
The trach and feed tube were installed same day Sept. 9th.
Love to all. [Yes, even Ted.] 😀
Eric.
Hang in, Eric. Prayers to you.
Keep up the positive attitude/energy.
Thanks for the update.
Keep fighting, stay positive!

Hey, Eric, do you like James Herriot? (Good reading) or, do you want us to send you any books?
I got very sick, about 3 yrs ago, with lymes from a tick bite.
The books helped me.
Just tell us what you'd like... (I was suggesting books, because it was my thing) but, if you share what you like, if I can, I will send it.

God Bless You Eric. He's got a plan. Let me know if you need anything.
Hey Angel
Please pass on my greetings, salutations and absolute best wishes to E from "Down Under".
You might also mention that we miss him 'round here...
