I was shopping at Target the other night and saw a tripod lamp with adjustable legs. It was pretty neat.

I have had one next to my computer at home for several years. It actually works in that it's adjustable. Only intended as a table lamp, though. Not big enough to stand alone on the floor. I got mine at Target, too.
