Since I??ve been on this bridge project in Pierre, SD, I??ve come to know a few people in a short amount of time. One in particular being the DOT surveyor who??s close to my age, similarly trained and easy to get along with. This past Friday, said DOT surveyor invited me to join him today for the Pike Masters fishing tournament. His wife and him are both fishing guides when not working their other jobs, she is a teacher. Being that I??m here alone, and most of the rest of our crew goes ??home? (out of state) I decided to join in on the fun.
I am NOT a fisherman by any means but do enjoy good company and a nice boat ride so I bought a license on Friday and off we went.
It was a shotgun start at 7:30am and we drove an hour to our ??spot?. We did some trolling, some fishing from shore and a little exploring along some of the hills. We didn??t win the tournament (only caught a single small mouth bass and no Pike) but man it was fun and a beautiful day to boot.?ÿ
I can??t wait for the next fishing trip.

Nice.?ÿ Working out of town is a chance to broaden our experiences.?ÿ Glad you had a great day.
Successful fishing relies on catchphrases. You might want drop this into the convo next time, to show you've done your homework:?ÿ "You can't catch fish if your line's not wet".
OFS!!!!!!!
Another one, for after you have sat there for a while, with absolutely nothing:
"Remember, in order to catch a fish, you have to be smarter than a fish."
Ken
@ken-salzmann Or as a wise old fisherman told me, "You can't outthink a bass, because a bass doesn't think."
Andy
Also I think I joined a band. ????
That will make the crack of dawn come twice a day.
