I see more and more errors in math, spelling, grammer, and homonyms than ever before from "reputable" news organizations. I thought AI is supposed to cure this.
In addition does anyone check advertisements prior to publishing?
For example what's wrong with this ad? (yes it's nit picky)
"With similar (less efficient) devices going for $1500+ you would expect the Everlyte to be at least this...
But what if I told you that the Everlyte retails for $99.99, this is way below your expectations right!
HOWEVER, do you know what's better than paying the already good full $99.99 price?
Their?ÿ50% promotional discount, where you can order yours for just?ÿ$39!"
????
hell, I thought I was the only person that was thinking like this. I guess I am not crazy after all!
whew.
Being smart is looked down on in much of our society.
And get off my lawn.
I thought AI is supposed to cure this.
This is going to be a big problem. We're going to let AI do the thinking for us. Contrary to old sci-fi movies, our heads will not evolve into large brain compartments. They will become smaller to house our pea-sized brains.
On FM 105.9 this morning there was a news story about a newly erected water tower in Stuart, FL. Apparently there was no QA involving the spelling of the town so prominently displayed on the tower. It was painted START.
O, brudder? Watt shud wee auntisipait two obscure nekst@
Must agree with Field Dog's reasoning that thinking ability will diminish over time. Why remember anything? The answer is on your phone.

It's even worse than that; the mere act of looking up a piece of information induces a false sense of knowledge about the subject. Googling a random factoid on your smartphone tends to make people think they know way more than they actually do.
It certainly explains why so many folks can't admit that they don't know everything, and seem to be ready to fight someone over their misinformed point of view...
Here's something to make you go hmmmmm.

I think you have to get a permission slip from your dentist to buy one of those. If you mess up it's quite a feeling on the teeth.
That's the stuff nightmares are made from. Never get that haunting tune out of your head.
Never get that haunting tune out of your head.
I was just thinking. He has that tune, in his head. And, it's coming out of his head.
Our 12 yo wants a jaw harp now... I'm in trouble! I may never see the end of this...

@nate-the-surveyor I had one about that age. Well until I pinched my tongue and could not eat the BBQ for a bit. I gave it up. BBQ was much better after I healed LOL.....
The dysgenic effect is in full swing. My bugbear is seeing books in the library with explicit words in the title. We get closer to Idiocracy each day.
Everybody missed it!
