There was some fast moving winds (just under an F1 tornado) that came through where I live.?ÿ A bunch of tree limbs down and some debris blown around.
I stopped in the office for about 10 minutes to return an email that needed several attachments.?ÿ It is just easier for me to do that on a desktop machine.?ÿ Within that 10 minute window, a tree top fell over onto the back end of my work truck.?ÿ Fortunately, just a few dents and a hole punched through the bed cover.?ÿ No equipment harmed and the truck was still able to be driven.
The timing (while not great) was very lucky.?ÿ Because I parked where I parked, the guy who I lease space with parked where he parked.?ÿ He was also there for just a few minutes.?ÿ His truck just got some small branches in the bed and a piece of trim popped off.?ÿ He has three dogs and they are TOO well trained to stay in the truck bed unless let out.?ÿ If the truck positions had been switched, the dogs might not have stayed safe.?ÿ As it was, they had the poop scared out of them.
We cleared the tree up and then I headed home.?ÿ On the way home, I was attacked by someone's styrofoam cooler that was rolling right down the middle of the road and blowing up about 10-15 feet in the air.?ÿ I stopped in the road and it bounced right over me.
Hope the rest of you who had that wild end of week weather are hanging in there.
Living in tornado alley I don't think I've ever actually purchased anything like patio furniture. Usually after a storm there will be some outdoor furniture out in your front (or back) lawn. If it's not in too bad shape you just hang on to it until another storm gives it to the next guy.
I had about 4 spots on a brand new woven wire fence that had trees down on it. The fence is rated to take a standard car at 35 mph moving horizontally but it will NOT hold up to a 20" ash tree falling straight down on it.
