About 10 years ago at a board meeting, one item on the agenda
was what to do about drive-by surveying and lack of corners.
The state board of realtors president came because he thought
the cost of staking surveys would be significsnt and delay
the closings. He described any proposed legislation as a
surveyor's Cadillac law.
The president of the board of surveying ( & PE) replied,
"Our GPS and vehicle cost a whole bunch more than the
Cadillac, realtors have. Only other equipment you brokers buy
is a hammer to pound in your sign."
A bunch of tee-hees ensued.
