finally got some fresh snow last weekend. Slalom skiing without the breakaway poles...

I couldn't help but laugh when I read your "one of these days I'll get one" and then your signature tag line.

I was an early adopter, and when some young turks called me out for wearing a helmet I said, "If you skied where I ski, you'd have one too. Take a run with me and I'll show you." They followed until the drop-in cornice. The last time I saw them they were hiking their way out of Spaulding bowl, uphill. Epic. Spaulding Bowl

Go ahead and get one, you may never use it, but if you're in those trees long enough, you might. And then it's too late. Hope it never happens.

I guess we were pretty "aggro" skiing in our younger years. But it seems the trees at Big Bear, Mammoth and Tahoe were much bigger..and much farther apart!
