Denali, tallest peak in N. America and the Alaska Range, about 70 miles away, yesterday's job back drop. Dropped off by chopper to do work on a remote mountain top comm site. There just something about dropping a thousand feet off the top of a mountain in a chopper before leveling out that gets the andrenaline going. It was a good day to be a surveyor.

Just a little post script on this. Work I did yesterday included retracing a survey done by one of my mentors back in the early 80's. He'd used 2 USGS mountain top tri stations 13.7 miles apart for his bearings. I matched those bearings within 9 seconds coming off my GPS control.
Not bad old man, not bad.
