Got my flu shot last fall. Guess the old flu bug mutated and fooled all those smart-ass scientists. I've felt pretty bad since Wednesday night, but I'm pretty sure I'm on the upswing.

I hope everybody else can avoid it. I guess the only good that can possibly come out of this would be the fact that maybe now I've got some anti-bodies built up for this particular flavor.

More Nyquil and Theraflu for dinner....yummmm. 🙁

Drink lots of fluids, more than you feel you want to.

Had a neighbor pass away from the flu several years ago. It was a simple lack of fluids.

I have never had a flu shot. I remember having the flue every year as a child. Sometimes several times a year. I must have built up the anti-bodies, because I have not had the flu in decades.

Following the same schedule here, sore throat began Wednesday afternoon. Glad there was a pack of Honey Herb Ricola in the truck.

Two days of mucus, fever, body aches.

A mixture of Orange Juice, Theraflu, Coricidin HBP, BC Powder, Diuretics and one T.E.P. pill today to open the bronchial tubes and bring on the sweats.

Made a large pot of chicken soup with potato, carrot, celery, sweet peas, shoepeg corn and laden with onionand garlic that was mostly for the broth. What a soothing mixture.

If I'm not better by tomorrow the next pot is going to have red pepper added.

The flu is widespread in my area and has made it into(and now out of) my home. My son decided to share the "joy" with me. Good news is that my wife appears to have missed it.

He took sick late Sunday and after a trip to the doctor, started Tamiflu on Monday afternoon. I got sick on Tuesday and started Tamuflu on Wednesday. He was back to school on Thursday and I went back to work on Friday. Lots of rest, chicken noodle soup, advil and Tamiflu did the trick for us. That is one amazing medicine!

Just some data, you can apply, if you want.

I got lymes disease. I disolve Himalayan salt, into water, to full saturation, (about 26%) and add a tsp to a glass of water. All the water I drink, has salt in it.

One of the SIDE effects of this, is I don't get sick so often! I used to go down 2-4 times a year, and be in bed for a week. Bad flu symptoms.

Since drinking my salt water, I don't get flu.

My theory is that I retain more water, due to the salt, and thus don't dehydrate near as much as I used to, and so, dehydration, was the main cause I got sick.

Stress, and work, and not drinking enough fluids.

Salt water.

Um hmmm

I started on Tuesday with the scratchy throat and headache. Thought I was better yesterday. Ha ha, much worse today.

The baby and wife have it too, such fun.

I read that this year's variant has the worst record of success in several years...less than a 25% success rate...although it's unclear exactly what that means, unless it's that 3 out of 4 who got the shot got the flu anyway.

Hunker down and be well.:-(
