I wouldn't be surprised if the people buying sneakers for that much are doing so for investments. I saw a bit on tv a while back that some people do that, buy new limited run sneakers in anticipation of the value going up.
Like Angle though, I can think of a few other things to do with that kind of money......

Well...you do have a point there. That is why women buy Louis Vuitton and other highly expensive handbags. They go up in value because there's only so many made and then they stop.

wowzer - I have a hard time thinking about $299 to replace my Danner Mt Light boots.... those are some crazy prices! as an investment, you best know what you're doing I suppose, like any other big investment. still amazing that on ebay, those are bid prices, not asking prices.
