Although i did not have a dog in this hunt, still I'm a kinda sort-of an LSU fan, but I don't mind that Bama totally outplayed the Bayou Bengals in every aspect of the game.
Congrats to Bama, their defense is awesome, and they have a field goal kicker who can occasionally put one thru the uprights if it doesn't get blocked, which is all they really needed in this game or the last one, or any of their other games for that matter. The fact that they actually scored a touchdown late in the game is inconsequential. It is a total shame to the BCS in general and ESPN in particular, that LSU had to take the field with a quarterback and a set of wide receivers who may have been lucky to play on the scout teams at Boise State, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Oregon or even Michigan and VA tech.... and with no visible running backs whatsoever. All six teams mentioned would have had a good chance of beating LSU, and two of them would have beaten Alabama tonight, because Kellen Moore would have diced up even the Alabama defense for at least one or two touchdowns, and Weeden and Blackmon of OK State would have probably done the same, although the OSU defense would also have allowed a few TDs, which the Broncos defense wouldn't...
After watching this debacle, one has to think that somehow a more entertaining and competitive championship game could have been put together. It was a dis-service to college football fans everywhere. I almost puked listening to Brent and Herbie afterwards, they are nothing but jock-sniffers and so is their TV network.

LSU stomped the green back flies of Oregon to start the season on a neutral field in Texas. So we can rule them out right off the bat.
I have no idea why LSU played so "flat" tonight, but they did. I think the real injustice to the NCAA football fan would have been any one of the teams you mentioned playing LSU and getting beat. Which in all probability would have happened. SEC football is a whole lot different than the other conferences. Scoring doesn't come easy. It's a grind it out defensive game on any given Saturday, and it is all about conditioning. It would take Alabama 2 or perhaps as many as 3 offensive drives to thoroughly whip the defense of any of those teams you mentioned for the rest of the game. They'd get few chances to get their offense on the field, and even then the Alabama defense would have no problem stopping them.
The right teams played tonight, and Alabama was clearly much better on this given night.;-)

However, one thing that many would probably agree about is that the Alabama defensive MVP award should probably go to LSU's offensive coordinator. Another thing is that LSU's best offensive player was their punter. To me, that's not compelling football to watch, especially for a National championship.

LSU OL did not show last nightand Bama was better prepared. Thye never had to make an adjustment where LSU failed. Period

You could tell by the first few of LSU's 3 and outs that they were not prepared. I have to believe that the 13-0 season went to there heads and they thought they had this one in the bag. Alabama thought differently.

For the only time this year, last night Alabama passed on nearly every first down.
In both games, Alabama and LSU had their lowest scores of the season. That's because of playing defense. Baylor would likely score some points against either team but probably not enough to win.
Mythical BCS championship= debacle? No. Mythical BCS championship = beat-down and shutout!

I was seriously starting to think that kid was on the take after a few of the options and that ridiculous shovel pass. Either that or he was so scarred stiff, he was just hoping to deflect the blame of their situation on other players. So many times it appears he had running lanes to be the hero but chose to look around for someone else.
Epic fail on the plays he was delt but OMG, what the hell was the o-coordinator thinking. Not to take anything away from Bama's stellar play on defense. They were the MVP for sure. Nice work Bama, I just wish LSU made them work for it a bit more.
I really think LSU's defense worked pretty hard. Kept them out of the end zone for three quarters. By the fourth quarter you could tell than Bama's offense and LSU's defense was pantin' tired.
Say what you will. Even though the final score didn't look like a basketball game, a lot of good kids played 'til their gizzards were hanging out.

The problem for me is this was more than a month since both of their last games. Both teams would have been sharper if the championship was played on Jan 1, or 2 as the case this year would have been.
I know the stats showed the other QB had his head handed to him by Bama last time, but why didn't they give him at least a chance? Could it have been that much worse than what happened?
