A friend who lives in Alta is related by marriage to the current Myles Standish, who is a direct descendent of the original.?ÿ The current Myles lives in Mexico, as I recall.

well, i was born about 2 miles west of the river, and when i went home from the hospital it was to a house about 1/2 a mile east of the river.

my dad's mom- who was raised in plattsmouth (just south of omaha) used to love to tell the story of when she first started dating my grandfather.?ÿ it was winter, and he'd drive his old buick across the frozen missouri (must have been a really cold winter) from pacific junction.

mom is a native nebraskan, dad is a native iowan.?ÿ go to any family reunion where i qualify for attendance and that's a fairly standard story.

?ÿ

Very cool. Mine only goes back to a misspelled name at Ellis Island.

Saw a great documentary recently that mentioned how many folks can trace lineage back to Plymouth

My Dad's Father ran away from NJ and changed his name.?ÿ We think he was dodging the WWI draft but can't say for sure.?ÿ Another family thinks he is their long lost cousin but declined to get the DNA test so can't say for sure (I totally don't blame them, I don't want my DNA given over to some soulless corporation).?ÿ GO GRANDPA!

"Ain't gettin' my DNA"

Somebody up the ladder is gathering DNA evidence and that is not necessarily a good thing.

Broke: They're using commercial ancestry DNA kits to build a DNA database

Woke: A secret government agency has been hacking into medical labs for decades and already has all your DNA info.?ÿ

Mrs. Cow is descended from John Alden and Priscilla Mullins Alden. ?ÿThe Mayflower site on Wikipedia suggests there are several million Mayflower descendants in America. ?ÿThere have been many generations in 400 years.

They recently solved a 39-year old murder case in Iowa by comparing crime scene DNA to a genealogy DNA database for a so-so match, and looking at family members who could be suspects.?ÿ They narrowed down the list to one guy whose DNA wasn't on record and then checked his, finding a perfect match.
