Snuffdipper is gone but lakeman is back...I have been under the radar for about a month. I was recently layed off from the City of Memphis after 27 years. The Survey Dept for the City was reorganized and me along with one of the best party chiefs in this area was eliminated. In total 7 people were let go.
Now living on Horseshoe Lake in Arkansas RETIRED.....
To all my friends on this board and on the old board that I have delt with over the years but never met I say hello and the fishing is good.
Been surveying since 1970 and still get up at 4:30 am. I'll never get this surveying stuff out of my system.

Please tell Nate that gar ain't fer eatin'.
I'm tellin' ya,
Gar is one of the best eaten' freshwater fish there is!
Try it and you'll have to agree.

lakeman, we need lake pics!
Gar...carp.... that sucker Jerry Penry was cuddling the other day..... bleeech!!! 😛
Just because you're at/near the top of the food chain, doesn't mean you have to eat EVERYTHING under you...
Lakeman,
Enjoy your retirement. I hate to hear that you were let go, but hopefully it is working out in your favor.
You are respected in this neck of the woods as far as I am concerned. Never heard a bad thing about you or your department in he 15 years I've been in this business.
Take care.
Jimmy
Sorry to hear your fate. Should be last on first off. Can not be good for the ego to be loved one day as a surveyor then to be ditched onto the scrap heap.
Guess it is final, so bitching will only interfere with your retirement.
I dread the day that I decide to retire. Actually I am peeved that my trust TS will now need to be replaced as should it break down no more new spare parts being made !
Strange feeling as 65 knocks on door!

Oh how I agree with that! Many items are way too disgusting to even consider attempting to eat. Reminds me of being a kid and a parental unit says "don't put that in your mouth!"
