Only thing I remember about first grade is that my parents took the phone off the hook while school was in session. ?????ÿ

My cousin posted a fractions problem on FB that her 4th? 5th? grade daughter was working on. By the time I saw it, it had replies listing the right answer, 2 wrong answers, and a another reply (from a non-math teacher) backing up one of the wrong answers. I wrote an expanded answer with a simplified example to show why it was correct.?ÿ

My kids occasionally have had math questions which are ambiguous. Often they can explain which way we're supposed to interpret the question.?ÿ

For the math program that they're following, you can take a picture of the problem and upload it to the online software version and it'll give you an explanation. So far I've haven't had to go that far. ??? ???ª?ÿ
