Kinda early for that ain't it?
I just saw two big V-formations heading due south.
They shoulda stayed in Alaska, 42 deg. here this morning!!
-JD-
25 degree'so.O with a constant 25mph wind:'( when I left my house this morning. I't a nice dry 10 degree's with the wind and I would surely fly south to get out of it if it was that easy.
Cheers
Im sure after a week or so of this cold snap, the weather will get back to normal being rainy and in the low 50']
-4 @ 9:00 am , now +13, sunny with no breeze.
5" of snow on the ground - a beautiful day in Central Oregon.
a Happy, Blessed, and Prosperous New Year to All!
Scott
Temps are suppose to plunge later in the week.
Now where'd I put my ice skates? :-S
.... going to need those to get across the parking lot.
When the head goose reaches out and there is nothing to nibble on the flight is on....
Why is one side of the V longer than the other side?
Cuz there are more geese on that side ?

The smart ones left a long time ago. It had warmed up to 8 by the time I started the survey chariot this morning. Hard water makes for hard landings.
We have an inordinate number of those nasty flying poop bombers in Mississippi right now. They seem to love my car. A carwash 2 or 3 times a week is not out of the question. :-@
Game and Fish and the local PD will not let us thin out the flocks either. Right now everybody is doing their fireworks thing so my poor car will be spared for a day or two. I got a bunch of roman candles this year. I cannot hunt those nasty bums but I can melt the hell out of some butthole feathers!! 😉
And why is it that on a foggy morning they fly real low and real quiet and just as they see you they do that "HONK" thing and crap? They don't have to aim real well. If their bomb misses, the "HONK" is usually so loud and unexpected that you crap yourself anyway. +o(

ROFLMAO 😉
We don't have many gooses? geeses? in FL. But we do have an overabundance of Sandhill Cranes.
Never been "hit" (yet). They also make a racket when airborne or on the ground that can scare the hell right out of you.
Happy New Year! B-)
Do they tangle with powerlines?
how many times do those things take out powerlines? Or short them to be precise?
I had a Black Swan get fried just before Christmas.
Took out 2 fuses on line but then that's what they're there for.
They make a unique noise when that happens.
