the coolest guy ever.
I love him.
"When the stars make you drool
Just like pasta fazool
That's amore."
O.K. I know he didn't write it, but nobody else could have sung it.
Don
I wish I had the easy charm and singing voice of Dean Martin.
Dean Martin can barely hold it in, in this clip with Foster Brooks:

He was a special kind of celebrity. I guess we can agree. lol. These so called stars of today just don't cut the mustard.
Have a great evening Don.
Oh. I thought you meant Jim's dad. You know, at Griner & Schmitz.
You lost me. I'm not that old..lol
he ain't from around here.....
Explanation
Jim Martin currently heads up Griner & Schmitz in Kansas City, Missouri. They are survey equipment sales and service folks. Very nice, BTW. Jim's dad, Dean Martin, was the king pin for many years. Before getting to know Dean, there was another fellow who handled my calls. His name was something like, Perry Como or Walt Disney, or some other famous name, also.
Jack Webb
It might have been Jack Webb. If he was out, they would turn you over to Dean Martin. No joke.
Jack Webb
I used to have a boss named Dennis Day who told stories about traveling on business with one Jim Durante. There were some interesting hotel check-ins.
Old timers here may recognize the names.

Jimmy Durante with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby...
Jimmy Durante was a true pioneer of jazz in America. And his love for jazz made him a very unique person.
I have seen pictures of him here when he played in all Black or Creole bands in the 1910’s and he was the solo white guy in the band. Remember this is only a dozen years or so past Homer vs Plessy.
The pictures that I saw were originals that were in possession of the Baquet family.
When he went back to NYC and formed a jazz group, he invited a few New Orleans musicians to join him who were ‘light skinned’ and could pass for whites. Achille Baquet was one of them. There were afew others also.

My buddy, Wayne Newton tells some
great stories from his visits to Las Vegas. Talk about getting fast limo service.
