Scheduled for February 2-10 at the PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg this show is in jeopardy.
It was decided by the promoters to ban the sale, display, raffling or any mention in brochures of "Black Rifles".
The list of 170 vendors, celebtiries and outfitters now boycotting the show is extensive. Cabelas probably the most well known boycotter, plus major firearms manufacturers.
I have not been there lately, it was just too hectic.

It sounds like the show shot themselves in the foot..............:-D

Actually it's up past 300 now with 66 celebrity/speakers pulling out. Cabellas, Hoyt, PSE, Bear, Leupold, I think even Primos calls pulled out.
Here's the list of vendors: Northeastern Outdoors
There will be a boat dealer and probably a taxidermist still going. I went a year or two ago and didn't even see any AR-15's or really any guns for that matter.

That is going to cost a lot of people a lot of money.
Usually 200,000 attendees @ $14 that is $2.8 million to the promoters.
If the average attendee only ate $20 in food, that is $4 million to vendors.
If the average attendee only spent $10 on raffle tickets, that is $2 million to sportsmens clubs.
If the average attendee only spent $50 that is $10 million to exhibitors.
However there are a lot of big ticket sales, safaris, hunting trips, hunting cabins, equipment. If 1% spent $5,000, that is another $10 million.
If they come 4 to a car, average is $75 for fuel, that is $3.75 million.
$30-60 million not going into the economy.

And for a good reason to stop some who have no respect for the Constitution and the 2nd amendment.
Stay tuned, going to get worse.

$uperbowl 2013
Superbowl XLVII wil have a 437 million dollar impact on the local economy next week. (estimates provided by the Gov Bobby Jindall and seconded by the Wall Street Journal).
That is direct impact and does not include the leakage impact that you included.
The weekend after is mardi gras ($150 million local impact) and that will be followed in April by the NCAA womens final 4 ($20 million) and the French Quarter fest ($245 million local impact). Then in May, it is Jazz fest which is a $300 millon economic impact locally. so we are looking at a $1.25 billon impact this Spring from tourism.
geez..and we thougth last year was good with the Sugar Bowl, BCS Bowl and Men's Final 4 along with the others (mardi Gras, FQ Fest and Jazz fest).
so it looks like 2013 will be good year.
On the homefront, I refinaced the homestead with no hassles to early 1950's interst rates and I am going to see the Hornets(pelicans) tonight with the honor roll students from the local middle school.
